Swiss luxury watch brand Oris renews its collaboration with the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat by launching Dat Watt Limited Edition II diving watch. This version of the Aquis diver comes with a dial inspired by salt marshes.
The Common Wadden Sea Secretariat (CWSS) is a trilateral organisation that works to protect and conserve the Wadden Sea, an area covering11,500km2 in northern Europe that reaches 500km along the coast of Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.
A vital ecosystem, Wadden Sea is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the world’s largest unbroken intertidal flats system. It’s the world’s largest unbroken tidal flats system and home to around 10,000 species of flora and fauna.
The partnership between Oris and CWSS began in 2021 with the Dat Watt Limited Edition watch and now continues with a second limited-edition piece.
The Oris Aquis Dat Watt Limited Edition II features a green dial inspired by the salt marshes of the Wadden Sea.
Made of stainless steel, its 43.5 mm diameter case is water-resistant to 30 bar (300 metres). It has a unidirectional rotating bezel with the minutes scale appears on a grey tungsten bezel insert, a screw-down security crown with protection, and lumed hands and indexes.
It also comes with a blue rubber strap and a three-link stainless steel metal bracelet, both equipped with a safety clasp with an extension system so it can be worn over a wetsuit.
Inside it is a Swiss Made automatic mechanical movement that equips the watch with a small seconds at 9 o’clock (half of which is coated in lume to provide a diver with evidence the watch is running) and an unusual circular date function, indicated by a white dash that rotates through a 360-degree channel over a 31-day period.
Only 2,009 pieces will be made, signifying the year the Wadden Sea was awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
