“NEON” is the name given to the latest bespoke watch project by Artisans De Genève for American singer Adam Levine, who is the leading vocalist of the pop band Maroon 5. This unique timepiece is a fusion of various watchmaking skills with charm of bygone era and latest luminescence technologies.
Adam Levine wanted to personalize his gold Daytona® (reference 116508) into a unique creation, and approached Switzerland based atelier Artisans De Genève.
The project “Neon” began on paper with countless drawings and detailed discussions between Adam and Artisans De Genève’s craftsmen, before alighting on the final iteration of the design.
Firstly, the atelier manually open-worked the calibre to capture the fine artistry sought by Adam Levine. After cutting, each element of the movement was bevelled and polished by hand.
The sapphire dial and skeleton movement allow light to infiltrate every corner of this watch. The luminescent material accentuates every detail. The vivid and unique hue of the bezel contrasts with the allure of the glossy surfaces. The Super-Luminova hands create a visual tension that captivates and lingers long after the gaze has shifted.
The Artisans De Genève “NEON” unique piece features a harmonious blend of innovation and craftsmanship. It boasts a subtle presence of the aesthetic codes of yesteryear. The dial’s design, the luminescent-coated plate, and the crown guard machining give it old-world charm.
Yet, upon closer inspection, the intricate skeletonized movement unveils many components geared towards a more modern, futuristic watchmaking. The balance bridge, entirely designed and crafted in-house, features several handmade decoration techniques.
