Denmark based watch brand PITOT presents a new chronograph collection inspired by the mighty F/A-18 Super Hornet multirole fighter aircraft.
The new PITOT chronograph features a bold titanium case measuring 44mm in diameter and 13.3mm thickness. The crown and push-buttons are also made of titanium. Fitted on a 22mm wide rubber strap with stainless steel folding clasp, this sports watch is water-resistant up to 100 meters.
The upper case is polished whereas the glass bead-blast finished titanium case-back sports a polished silhouette of the F/A-18 Super Hornet.
Topped with an AR coated sapphire crystal glass, the watch offers clear view of the bicompax (two-counter) dial.
Paying tribute to F/A-18 Super Hornet, this new timepiece is sleek, aerodynamic and imposing like the iconic combat jet. PITOT has incorporated materials like titanium and rubber as well as several design features to establish a profound connection between the new watch and the fighter aircraft.
For example, the right case side takes inspiration from the aircraft wings. Similarly, the chronograph push-buttons evoke the jet-engine exhausts while the crown features the design of PUSH to JETT button of the control panel.
The PITOT F/A-18 Super Hornet inspired Chronograph is available in two dial versions. The first one has a green and black theme inspired by HUD (Head-Up Display) of the fighter plane. This model can be distinguished by the HUD drawing on the lower part of the dial.
The second version features a blue and yellow theme inspired by the colors of The Blue Angels, the iconic U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, which fly F/A-18E Super Hornets. This model spotlights a diamond formation of four F/A-18 Super Hornets just above the date window at 6 o’clock.
Each PITOT F/A-18 Super Hornet Inspired Watch houses a Ronda Startech Caliber 5021.D quartz chronograph movement. In addition to basic timekeeping, it offers chronograph (30 minute counter, center stop-second, ADD and SPLIT functions) and Date.
Each timepiece will be presented in a special Blue Angels-inspired watch box. In addition, the brand is offering an exclusive brown leather travel case, specially crafted to complement the F/A-18 Super Hornet-inspired watch.
PITOT has also launched an online crowd funding project on Kickstarter to promote the new F/A-18 Super Hornet Inspired chronograph. During the campaign period (08th August to 06th Sep 2023), this timepiece can be pre-ordered.
The early bird offers start at €302 (approximately $332). Estimated delivery in May 2024.
