Seiko has announced a new Prospex Mechanical Divers watch as a tribute to Japanese professional baseball pitcher Shohei Ohtani.
The Seiko Shohei Otani Prospex limited edition model (reference SBDC191) is based on the iconic 1965 Mechanical Divers watch.

It has a 40.5mm diameter case made of stainless steel and enhanced with diamond shield coating. The light grey color dial with white indexes and red seconds hand evoke the team uniform worn when he achieved double-digit win.
The crown is marked with the jersey number “17” in the same typeface. The Seiko Prospex SBDC191 houses the automatic Caliber 6R35, which offers a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
Water-resistant to 200m, this timepiece comes with a three-link stainless steel bracelet with Shohei Otani’s signature marked on the clasp.
The Seiko Prospex Shohei Ohtani 2023 watch is a JDM (Japan Domestic Model) and it is limited to 1,700 pieces.
