For its second participation in the prestigious bi-annual watch charity auction, Ressence presents TYPE 12 Only Watch 2023 Unique Piece.
Taking place on November 5th, 2023, at Palexpo in Geneva and organized by Christie’s auction house, the event aims to raise funds for research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy by auctioning one-of-a-kind timepieces.
Created especially for this bi-annual charity event, the Ressence TYPE 12 OW23 watch combines timeless functionality with symbolic design in support of this pressing cause.
The highlight of this unique timepiece is its singular dial design. In recognition of the disease’s genetic nature, Ressence has chosen a silver dial with a blue painted DNA chain.
With the combination of this unique drawing and Ressence’s signature revolving discs, the two-dimensional dial design of the TYPE 12 OW23 delicately symbolises the genetic chaos and hope associated with the disease.
Over time, the dial of the TYPE 12 OW23 reveals different faces, resembling an abstract work of art. However, every Sunday at midnight, all discs align to unveil a well-coordinated DNA chain, representing hope for a cure and progress in research.
This visual design of the TYPE 12 OW23’s dial also connects the two parts of the bracelet, symbolising the importance of coordination and collaboration in combating the disease.
The watch embraces the colour theme of Only Watch 2023 by incorporating blue accents. The two accompanying calf leather straps maintain this colour scheme with red lining and green or light blue edging, depending on the strap model.
Based on the Type 1 Squared model, the TYPE 12 OW23 features a dial in brushed German silver. The cushion-shaped case in Grade 5 titanium measures 41mm in diameter and 11mm in thickness.
Notably, if the Hour and Weekday discs are identical to the TYPE 1 Square, Minute indexes have been simplified, displaying no numbers, while the Seconds disc does not feature seconds indexes.
