Argos is a Philippines based watch brand founded by five young enthusiasts: Ivan, Trish, Stephen, Nikki and Gregory. Their debut creation is Argos Odyssey, an automatic wristwatch dedicated to modern, utilitarian men.
The brand name and its first model take inspiration from the Greek mythological characters portrayed in Homer’s Odyssey. Inspired by the story of Argos, the faithful and loyal dog of Odysseus, the brand has designed its first timepiece as a man’s reliable companion for enduring time.
The 38mm diameter case of Argos Odyssey is made of stainless steel and topped with a domed sapphire crystal glass. It comes fitted on a brushed stainless steel bracelet.
Thanks to its built quality, this timekeeper can withstand any damage attributed to daily wear and tear. Moreover, it is water-resistant up to the depth of 50 meters.
Inside this watch beats the globally acclaimed NH35A calibre, a robust and reliable automatic movement manufactured by Japanese watchmaking giant Seiko. Preferred by both mainstream and small brands, this 24-jewel calibre with Seiko’s Diashock shock-resistant system offers a power reserve of 41 hours. Fitted with a custom Argos blue rotor, it also offers hacking and hand-winding functions.
The Argos Odyssey watch stands out with its textured dial. Two dial colors are available: Blue and Cream. Each version is available in a limited edition of just 100 pieces. The centrally placed hands track the applied numeral and index markers to indicate the time.
The dauphine-shaped hour and minute hands are open-worked and lumed. The flange has a minute track composed of dots and triangles. The long centre seconds hand features an arrow-shaped tip finished in orange color. The dial also sports a date window at 6 o’clock.
Designed and assembled in Philippines, Argos watches have been created in partnership with local craftsmen. The approximate retail price of Argos Odyssey is ₱17,999 Philippines Peso.
