Rado Mubadala Citi DC Open

The Mubadala Citi DC Open has a special place on the international tennis calendar. It was founded in 1969 to support the legendary Arthur Ashe’s vision of playing a professional tennis tournament in a public park, with full access to everyone. Taking place in the heart of Washington DC, it attracts not only the game’s greatest players but leading government officials, business leaders, diplomats, and celebrities. It has shown impressive growth in its 53-year history.

The longest-running professional tournament at the same site in the US, the Mubadala Citi DC Open is now the fifth biggest pro tennis event in the country. In 2022, all 11 sessions sold out completely and the organizers are looking forward to another successful year when the Mubadala City DC Open becomes the world’s first-ever joint ATP 500/WTA 500 event.

The Mubadala Citi DC Open has also provided substantial funding to the WTEF, along with a platform that helps build life champions through tennis and academic excellence, providing underserved kids a safe environment where they can excel. Every summer, the Mubadala Citi DC Open tournament hosts hundreds of WTEF kids and offers them the unique opportunity to meet players, participate in instructional clinics with top pros, and more.

Rado Mubadala Citi DC Open

Rado can trace its close association with tennis back to 1985, when it installed its first corner clocks at the Swiss Open in Gstaad. It has remained one of the sport’s leading timekeepers ever since. To this day, Rado’s partnerships with leading tennis events around the world remain an important part of its brand identity.

In fact, Rado’s commitment to tennis goes far beyond timekeeping. Through its YoungStar program, the brand has partnered with some of the most promising talents in the game, accompanying them every step of the way in their pursuit of perfection and their demonstration of endurance, strength of character, and dynamism – the very values that define Rado itself. Some of these inspiring players have gone on to be superstars and tennis luminaries.

Along with its timekeeping and sponsorship activities, Rado will highlight one of the year’s most talked-about watches at the Mubadala Citi DC Open, the Captain Cook High Tech Ceramic Skeleton watch.
