The most extreme timekeeper in the newly launched OMEGA Seamaster Summer Blue Edition is a variant of the Ultra Deep 6000m watch.
In 2019, OMEGA created the Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep Professional, an extreme diving watch with a whopping water-resistance of 1500 bars (15,000 meters). This experimental deep diving instrument made history when it reached the Mariana Trench, the deepest place on Earth.
Following this world record achievement, OMEGA transformed the technology into the game-changing Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep 6000m collection available to the public.
A watch tested in real ocean conditions during its development, water-resistant to 6,000 metres (20,000 ft.), and meeting the ISO 6425:2018 standard for saturation divers’ watches, as certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS).
The new OMEGA Seamaster Ultra Deep 6000m Summer Blue Edition watch has a 45.5mm diameter case in O-MEGASTEEL.
Its stunning blue dial pays homage to the mysteries of the deep ocean world. Its texture is an exact representation of the Challenger Deep mapped by the Five Deeps team using almost one million sonar points. Moreover, the lacquered finish has a beautiful sense of depth.
The dial even has some interesting details that remain invisible in the natural light. Shining a UV light, the dial reveals the words, OMEGA WAS HERE, pointing toward the world record dive of 10,935 m and showing the Western, Central and Eastern Pools.
The caseback of this special edition Ultra Deep Planet Ocean watch has a laser-engraved commemorative Seamaster logo depicting a trident-bearing Poseidon and two seahorses: OMEGA’s 1956 original and the brand’s current design.
The Ultra Deep 6000m Summer Blue Edition houses OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8912, the same calibre powering the legendary Ploprof.
This Summer Blue Edition model comes with an O-MEGASTEEL bracelet.
