French watchmaker Baltic has created a unique piece of its newly developed Premier Quantième Perpétuel (perpetual calendar) for the Only Watch 2023 charity auction.
Founded in 2005, Only Watch raises awareness and funds for research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The tenth edition of the prestigious charity event will be held on November 5th, 2023 in Geneva.
Baltic is supporting this biannual event for the second time. Earlier, the brand created the Pulsometer Chronograph Monopusher 1/1 for Only Watch 2021. This timepiece was auctioned for an amount of CHF 50,000.
With the unique Premier Quantième Perpétuel created for Only Watch 2023, Baltic is also presenting its new fine watchmaking studio, Baltic Experiments.
Manufactured in collaboration with watchmaker Emmanuel Bouchet, the Premier Quantième Perpétuel offers a timeless, easily legible display of Perpetual Calendar functions.
It has a beautiful gradient purple, grained dial. Meticulously balanced, the dial features three sub-registers to indicate the day of the week, month, leap year and moon phase, accompanied by a continuous seconds hand. The day of the month is indicated by the third main hand and is positioned towards the outer edge of the watch, harmoniously completing the overall aesthetic.
The Baltic Premier Quantième Perpétuel houses an automatic movement developed in collaboration with watchmaker Emmanuel Bouchet and his team. The in-house module, enabling the perpetual calendar to function, is implemented in a Vaucher 5401 micro-rotor movement whose bridges have been reworked.
The Premier Quantième Perpétuel watch features a 37mm diameter case made of steel and titanium. It has a slim, elegant 9.8mm profile. The sapphire crystal case-back provides the view of the perpetual calendar movement.
