TUDOR presents a new Black Bay GMT model featuring an opaline dial and the distinctive burgundy and blue bezel.
Sporting an extremely useful multiple time-zone/GMT complication, TUDOR Black Bay GMT boasts the emblematic deep blue and burgundy colour scheme, but in a matte version.
The new silvery white opaline dial perfectly complements the iconic colour scheme of the Black Bay GMT. Through a galvanic process, a matte white-grey finish is applied to the dial, and the marker surrounds are darkened to create a noticeable contrast.
The iconic “Snowflake” hands are enhanced with Grade A Swiss Super-LumiNova® luminescent material. For displaying additional time zones, the watch features a red “Snowflake” GMT hand.
The satin-brushed case in 316L stainless steel measures 41mm in diameter. The Black Bay GMT model is waterproof to 200 metres (660 ft).
The bidirectional rotating GMT bezel features an anodised aluminium insert in burgundy and deep blue. On the bi-colour bezel-insert, the twelve daylight hours are printed on the burgundy section and the night-time hours on the blue.
Inside the new Tudor Black Bay GMT Opaline Dial model beats the Manufacture Calibre MT5652 with integrated GMT function, jumping hour hand and retrograde date setting. This self-winding movement offers a power reserve of 70 hours.
Specially developed for the Black Bay GMT models, the Calibre MT5652 has the appearance and finish typical of TUDOR Manufacture calibres. Its openwork rotor is satin-brushed with sand-blasted details and its bridges and mainplate have alternate polished sand-blasted surfaces and laser decorations.
To ensure robustness and precision, the variable inertia balance wheel is maintained by a sturdy traversing bridge with a two-point anchoring. This system, together with its non-magnetic silicon hairspring, enables the Manufacture Calibre MT5652 to function within a tolerance range of 6 seconds (-2/+4) tested on a fully assembled watch.
The new TUDOR Black Bay GMT Opaline Dial version comes either with a black fabric strap with a woven burgundy accent matching the bezel, or with a stainless-steel bracelet inspired by the folding riveted bracelets made by TUDOR in the 1950s and 1960s.
TUDOR Black Bay GMT is also available in Steel & Gold editions and black dial version.
