Porsche Design has launched the new Chronograph 718 Spyder RS exclusively for the buyers of the new Porsche 718 Spyder RS and 718 Spyder RS with Weissach package.
The Porsche Design Chronograph 718 Spyder RS can be configured just as individually as its motorized counterpart. The case is available in natural titanium or Black titanium. The bezel is in the corresponding color version and is available with a tachymeter or minute dial.
The Porsche Design timepieces configurator offers all available Spyder RS standard, metallic, and special colors for the individual color ring around the dial as well as 114 additional colors of choice (‘Paint to Sample’) – including numerous historic Porsche colors.
The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with seven-fold antireflective coating on both sides guarantees optimum readability. The carbon “RS” dial and the “GT” dial in black provide additional motorsport touches while the white hour and minute indexes made of ceramic Super-LumiNova® luminous material provide a sporty contrast.
The totalizers are adorned with “Flyback” lettering and an “M” and an “H” – for minutes and hours – in Racing Yellow. The hands appear in PERFORMANCE (white), ESSENCE (black), or GT (yellow).
The mechanical gear indicator at 9 o’clock underscores the ultimate motorsport genes of the 718 Spyder RS with a chequered flag design in black and white and dynamic “Spyder RS” lettering.
On the back, the Chronograph 718 Spyder RS features a rotor in the look of the Spyder RS wheel. The rear of the counterpart with Weissach package is crowned by a rotor in the look of the lightweight magnesium alloy wheel. In the center of both rotors – available in the colors Brilliant Silver, Aluminum (satin finish), Dark Silver, Neodyme, Indigo Blue, and Black respectively – is the end cap adorned with an “RS” logo in Brilliant Silver.
For even more individuality, additional model-specific rotor colors can be selected in the timepiece configurator. The back of the chronograph can also be customized by engraving a text of up to 12 characters – for example, the vehicle identification number (VIN) of the matching roadster.
The COSC-certified Porsche Design WERK 01.200 is enclosed in the glass bead–blasted titanium back in the case color. The movement also features a flyback function that combines starting, stopping and resetting in a single operation.
The leather strap that is included accentuates the close connection to the 718 Spyder RS – with black, smooth vehicle leather and an attachment made of black Race-Tex with “Spyder RS” embossed on the 6 o’clock position. The contrasting stitching is optionally available in Carmine Red or Arctic Gray.
On request, the chronograph can also be equipped with high-quality metal straps, which – just like the buckle – are made of titanium. All straps come with a quick-change mechanism and a folding clasp with pushers that match the case color.
From May 10, 2023, the Porsche Design Chronograph 718 Spyder RS is available exclusively for buyers of the new Porsche 718 Spyder RS and Porsche 718 Spyder RS with Weissach package and can be ordered on porsche-design.com at a starting price of 9,500 euros (RRP) in Porsche Centers worldwide.
Customers will receive their chronograph together with a plaque including the limitation number in a high-quality box. The configurator can also be used to enter an individual text for a personal engraving on the plaque.
When a 718 Spyder RS with Weissach package and matching chronograph are purchased, the metal is adorned with a “Weissach RS” graphic featuring a stylized test track of the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach.
