After unveiling the rose gold limited anniversary edition at Watches and Wonders exhibition 2023 in Geneva, Frederique Constant is now presenting two all-new variations of its Classic Manufacture Tourbillon in a 39-millimetre steel case with a blue or silver-coloured dial. Each of the two versions will be available in a limited edition of 350 pieces.
Not only is 2023 Frederique Constant’s 35th anniversary, it’s also the fifteenth anniversary of the brand’s first Manufacture tourbillon movement, released in 2008.
Presented at the Geneva Watches and Wonders show (27 March to 2 April, 2023), the Frederique Constant Classic Tourbillon Manufacture anniversary edition in rose gold is a limited edition of just 150 pieces.
Frederique Constant is now continuing its 35th anniversary celebrations with two new editions of its Classic Tourbillon Manufacture in steel, with 350 of each version being made.
The first features a sun-brushed midnight blue dial in a fully-polished steel case mounted on a matte blue alligator strap. The second comes with a sun-brushed silver-coloured dial and a matching strap.
The restrained diameter of 39mm makes the new models perfect on both men’s and women’s wrists, to which the Manufacture has returned after previously using a diameter of 42 millimetres for the model.
The dial boasts a minimalist, contemporary decoration. It has slim, diamond-cut and hand-applied hour markers. The same technique has been used for the hands, resulting in a hand polished finish. Below the ‘Frederique Constant – Genève’ signature at 12 o’clock, an opening at 6 o’clock reveals the tourbillon complication.
Inside the Classics Tourbillon Manufacture beats the FC-980 in-house automatic movement. Thanks to a silicon escapement wheel and anchor, the movement is more resistant to the adverse effects of magnetism and temperature variations. A central seconds hand complete with a stop seconds function glides over the tourbillon.
The individual number of each piece is marked on the tourbillon cage and engraved on the caseback. The sapphire case-back offers the view of various fine watchmaking finishes employed on the FC-980 Manufacture movement– bevelling, beading, circular graining, straight-grained flanks and mirror polishing.
The suggested retail price of each Frederique Constant Classic Tourbillon Manufacture watch in steel is 14’495€.
