The new Certina DS-2 Chronograph with Tonneau case takes inspiration from the iconic DS-2 Chronolympic, worn by Yuichiro Miura during his spectacular expedition to the Mount Everest. The new model comes with a sporty-elegant vintage design and silicon technology.

In 1970, Certina’s DS-2 Chronolympic watches accompanied a Japanese expedition to the highest peak in the world. During the descent Yuichiro Miura wore the watch on his wrist as he raced 2,000 metres down the mountain on skis–at speeds up to 160 kilometres an hour.

Designed after the 1970s model, the new Certina DS-2 Chronograph has a tonneau shaped case (43.3 mm x 40.5 mm) in stainless steel with yellow gold PVD coating.

The green dial presents the small seconds at 9 o’clock, the 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock, a date window at 6, and a tachometric scale.

Striking gold coloured indexes and hands coated with Super-LumiNova® complete the high-contrast retro design. The yellow gold PVD DS-2 Chronograph Automatic watch (reference C024.462.36.091.00) comes with a brown cow leather strap with crocodile imprint.

The brand is also offering a stainless steel model featuring a dark blue dial with white, yellow and red accents. Inside the new DS-2 Chronograph beats ETA A05.231, a modern automatic movement with a power reserve of 68 hours and a hairspring made of silicon.

The new DS-2 Chronograph Automatic will be available from April 2023 at all authorised Certina dealers worldwide.
