Made by TimeCore, a micro watch brand inspired by Industrial design, Eclipse is a retro-futuristic wristwatch with an automatic movement.
TimeCore is a watch brand based in San Diego, California. It has recently launched a Kickstarter online crowd funding campaign to undertake the mass production of the Eclipse Automatic Watch.
The asymmetric 3 piece case design of this timepiece evokes the motion of our sun, planets, and moons during an eclipse. Measuring 52mm in diameter, this stainless steel watch with a domed K1 Mineral lens is water-resistant up to 100 meters.
Framing the dial and bezel, is a concave outer radius edge inspired by the dish shape of UFOs. This distinct flying saucer shaped automatic watch is available with three variations: Silver, Black and Blue. The dial pattern, the color of logo and bezel finishing vary depending upon the version.
The TimeCore Eclipse Automatic watch houses the workhorse NH35 movement, capable of providing a power reserve of approximately 41 hours.
The watch displays the hour, minute and seconds with three central hands. It has a date window (crescent shaped aperture in case of Black and Blue versions) at 3 o’clock. In Silver and Blue versions, the TimeCore logo appears at 12H of the main dial. In the Black Eclipse model, the logo pops up at 12H of the oval shaped sub-dial.
The screw-down crown is finely machined to feel as though it’s straight off a starship. Unique detailed fasteners pull elements together along with a stamped and engraved screw-down case back.
TimeCore’s custom poly-band ties together the silhouette of the outer case. The case back is custom engraved and stamped with the TimeCore logo and surrounding engine core. Each Eclipse watch will be assembled in the USA using parts made in Japan and China.
The brand is presently offering this timepiece via Kickstarter at a special price starting at $325. The future retail price will be $499.
