Inspired by the legendary French rally car Renault 5 Turbo, the new YEMA Rallye 5 Turbo Limited Edition reflects the brand’s passion for the motorsports world.
Its immediately recognisable dial is reminiscent of the very singular steering wheel shape of the 1st generation R5 Turbo, as well as chronograph’s counters and hands retaining the characteristic design codes of the car’s dashboard.
The dial depth has been achieved by stacking 4 distinct vertical layers: the applied markers, the main dial, the “sandwich” sub-dial and a recessed dial. Its textured gray dial has a sand-blasted effect reminiscent of race track asphalt, in elegant contrast with the matt black recessed sub-dial and the brushed steel bezel.
Equipped with the Swiss Made ETA Valjoux caliber 7753 chronograph movement, the Rallye 5 Turbo has a 39mm diameter case, specially designed for this model.
The steel case features slightly sharper angles and bevels, all in a refined polished finish. Steel tachymeter bezel is in circular brushed finish in contrast with the polished steel case. The chronograph’s striated/ polished pushers resemble engine pistons.
The 1.80 mm thick double domed sapphire crystal offers better readability, enhanced resistance and a resolute vintage look. The solid stainless steel caseback features the engraving of YEMA’s historic crest.
This watch is available a choice of colours respectful of the 1980’s R5 Turbo. The Rallye strap in grained, perforated leather was made by French straps craftsman from the Franche- Comté region. The polished steel buckle is engraved with YEMA’s logo.
Proposed in a limited edition of 300 pieces, the YEMA Rallye 5 Turbo Chronograph is available for pre-order from 22 March. The Suggested retail price is $ 2,190.
