Casio has released the new RECRYSTALLIZED SERIES to commemorate the 40th anniversary of G-SHOCK, the best-selling watch collection from the Japanese company.
The references GMW-B5000PS and GMW-B5000PG retains the form of the first G-SHOCK model DW-5000C, but is based on the full metal GMW-B5000D, with high hardness in exterior parts such as the bezel and band.
For these watches, Casio developed an exclusive deep hardening process, making it approximately three times harder than regular stainless steel.
In terms of design, the stainless steel is heat-treated and recrystallized to create a crystalline pattern that looks like fine metal shards scattered on the matte surface, creating a rustic atmosphere. The way the crystal grains appear in each part is different, so you can enjoy the unique pattern, color tone, and luster of each piece.
The RECRYSTALLIZED SERIES offers two colour finishings: silver for GMW-B5000PS) and gold IP for GMW-B5000PG.
As a special specification, these G-Shocks feature the 40th anniversary logo on the back cover and “SINCE 1983” are printed on the dial. A star is placed on the lower left button, which corresponds to the 40 minute position on an analog clock.
In addition, Casio is also releasing the new model DW-5040PG on April 21st, which has the words “PROJECT TEAM “Tough” printed on it, the development team that created the first model.
While reproducing the design of the first model, deep hardening treatment has been applied to metal parts such as the case back, lock, and ring. Biomass plastic is used for the bezel and band.
