AVI-8 presents a new edition of its popular Hawker Harrier collection by presenting a new multifunction model offering dual time retrograde display, date and 24-hour functions.

As the name suggests AVI-8’s Hawker Harrier is a tribute to the legendary British combat jet developed in the 1960s. The new multifunction watch model is named after the famed Hawker Harrier test pilot John Farley.

Retired in 2006, Hawker Harrier was capable of carried out multiple missions including ground attack and reconnaissance. Moreover, it was provided with the vertical/short take off and landing facilities.

Renowned for his work in developing and testing the legendary Hawker Harrier, Farley also displayed his mastery of the aircraft when he captivated the world with the now famous “Farley Take Off”, a stunt he performed by hovering the Harrier then tilting the nose almost entirely vertically before applying full throttle to “rocket climb” away.

Remarkably, during his aviation career, Farley flew over 80 different types of aircrafts and was the first British pilot to fly the Mikoyan MiG –29.

Dressed in a solid marine grade stainless steel case, the AVI-8 Hawker Harrier Farley watch features a multifunctional dial layout inspired by the inner cockpit of the iconic “Jump Jet” aircraft.

Each detail of the modern and refined 44mm case has been carefully considered, with brushed and polished detailing throughout. The durable case is topped with a hardened mineral lens with anti-reflective coating.

Intricate design cues taken from the Harrier’s flight instruments are expertly and purposefully recreated on the Farley’s dial, with custom moulded cockpit inspired subdial frames and applied indexes coated with Swiss lume providing for a dial that is both innovative and legible.

This quartz watch is powered by a reliable and precise Japanese multifunction movement with a date, dual time retrograde display and 24-hour read-out.

Available in four versions – Stratosphere, Terrain, Regiment Blue and Night Sky – the AVI-8 Hawker Harrier Farley Multifunction watch is provided with a supple leather strap with military aviation-inspired detailing.

This bold 44mm wristwatch is available for purchase from 24th February, 2023. Its retail price range is $230 to $250 (£240 to £260/ €260 to €280).
