Swiss luxury watch brand Perrelet welcomes 2023 with two new creations: Turbine Carbon Forest Green & Turbine Carbon Midnight Blue.
These watches are designed for the man who likes to enhance his personality with a unique and distinctive style and pays great attention to the accessories that complement his look.
The new watches extend the Perrelet ‘Turbine Carbon’ collection first launched in 2022. This iconic line features the Turbine technology, patented by Perrelet in 2009.
Both novelties boast a round high-tech case with a diameter of 44 mm, water-resistant to 10 atm, with a case body made of polycarbonate and carbon fibre.
The flat bezel and case back are made of matt black PVD-coated steel. The case band features the traditional vertical fluted decoration with a prominent crown, this latter introduced with the Turbine EVO line in 2019, for better grip and handling.
The 12-blade turbine recalls the aircraft propeller from which it takes its inspiration. This propeller, a component designed to rotate with high energy on the dial side and requiring great precision during its assembly, looks like a double rotor.
While the Double Rotor technology, the first one patented by Perrelet and functional to the automatic movement that draws its energy from two rotors, the Turbine is not connected to the barrel because it would slow down its rotation speed. It has only a purely aesthetic function that allows for eye-catching optical effects and gives the watch a unique identity.
Made of black anodised aluminium, the 12-blade turbine moves at the slightest movement of the wrist, and reveals the decorated sub-dial. At its maximum rotation speed, these two new timepieces materialise the sun-satin finished sub-dials in forest green or midnight blue.
These two shades are applied to the hour ring and minute flange. The even Arabic numerals mixed with indices stand out in white on the “Turbine Carbon Midnight Blue” model, while the “Turbine Carbon Forest Green” version pairs them with beige.
The same colours also characterise the hour and minute hands, treated with SuperLumi-Nova for optimal time reading in the darkness. Bright red for the central seconds hand, which brightens up the dial protected by scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
“Turbine Carbon Forest Green” and “Turbine Carbon Midnight Blue” house the automatic P-331-MH calibre, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and providing a 42-hour power reserve when fully wound. The sapphire crystal caseback highlights the circular-grained finish of the bridges, the colimaçon decoration of the main-plate, while the open-worked oscillating weight is rhodium-plated and embellished with the brand’s logo.
Each timepiece comes with an alligator-pattern calf leather strap with rubber lining, in forest green or midnight blue, both with black stitching and customised folding clasp. Delivered in a special ‘Tactical Box’, they are also provided with an additional black rubber strap and a fastening tool.
