Seiko announces two twilight-inspired Presage watches, the ‘Akebono’ Sharp Edged Automatic and the ‘Akebono’ Sharp Edged GMT. Both Seiko Presage Akebono watches feature sapphire blue gradation dials highlighting the traditional Asanoha pattern. Only 2,000 pieces of each model are available worldwide.
Drawing inspiration from ‘Akebono’, a Japanese term for the twilight moment where the sunrise meets the sky, the sapphire blue and rose gold tones of the ‘Akebono’ Sharp Edged emulate a dawn sky.
The three-dimensional dial features a traditional Japanese hemp leaf pattern known as Asanoha, a widely renowned Japanese symbol of endurance, resilience and prosperity.
The ‘Akebono’ Sharp Edged Automatic watch (reference SPB363J1) is powered by Seiko’s in-house automatic 6R35 movement.
Equipped with the Calibre 6R64, the Seiko ‘Akebono’ Sharp Edged GMT (reference SPB361J1) features a power reserve indicator, date display and GMT hand, allowing the time to be clearly shown in two time zones simultaneously.
