After years of research and development, Swiss luxury watch brand ArtyA presents sapphire cases that are entirely two-tone in the mass. The ArtyA NanoSapphire Bicolor watches are available in 39, 41 and 46 mm case versions. This innovative world first is available in several of the brand’s iconic collections.
To achieve this ArtyA has used a high temperature multi-component combination of two main oxides – SiO2 and Al2O3. These oxides are key components of most natural gemstones. A temperature of 1700°C (compared to 700°C for glass) is required to synthesize this material.
ArtyA was able to adapt this technology to create an extremely hard and difficult to machine homogeneous material specifically optimized for watchmaking and thus became since 2017 the first company in the world to use it in a watch case in addition to our pure sapphire collections.
NanoSapphire has an incredible hardness, 7 on the Mohs scale, which is much higher than glass (5 on the Mohs scale), this guarantees the durability of this beautiful material that plays with light.

These watches don’t simply reproduce the design, style and colour of a butterfly. Under the strict control of the relevant authorities, and with their full consent, artist D. Arpa-Cirpka successfully incorporated genuine butterfly wings, tobacco leaves, natural pigments, gold leaves, and many other natural elements into the dial to create ever more unique art pieces.
These unique, tailor-made watches are highly creative – and completely unprecedented in the field of watchmaking.

This collection comes with the brand’s new skeletonized movement: the Spark. It is a tribute to ArtyA’s iconic Shams movement. The Spark is based on a historic 60’s caliber that was originally domed but has been completely skeletonized and modernized to improve reliability and offer a small skeletonized movement.

ArtyA NanoSapphire Bicolor Complications

It represents a concentrate of technologies that is still unique in the world, with its double barrel 4 Hz tourbillon movement inspired by its big sister, the Purity Tourbillon 46mm.
