Swiss luxury watch brand Oris has created a 1,000-piece limited edition celebrating the historic Waldenburgerbahn railway line.

The Waldenburgerbahn (WB) is a low-cost rail network opened in 1880 that linked the Waldenburg valley. Marking the WB’s recent upgrade, Oris is introducing the Waldenburgerbahn Limited Edition based on the iconic Big Crown Pointer Date watch.

The Waldenburgerbahn watch has a 40mm stainless steel case and fluted bezel, and a domed sapphire crystal. This model comes with a black dial decorated with large, lumed Arabic numerals and a railway-track minute scale.

It’s powered by Oris Calibre 754, which drives the signature Pointer Date function, whereby a central, red-tipped hand points to a date scale running around the edge of the dial. It’s finished on a dark brown strap made of sustainable deer leather supplied by Cervo Volante.

The engraved case back shows the old Waldenburgerbahn steam locomotive and the limited-edition number.
