Berlin based global fashion and media brand Highsnobiety has collaborated with Disney’s Fantasia through the release of a limited-edition watch created by UNIMATIC.
Since its 1940 release, Fantasia, the animated film that features seven segments set to classical music, has received critical acclaim and a cult following for ground-breaking visual design that was well beyond its time.
The collection takes a look back on the motion picture and ways in which it has stood at the forefront of film culture symbolizing innovation. Each piece celebrates this legacy and revisits the outstanding visuals, pulling reference from the Disney archive and film stills to capture the story that is Fantasia.
UNIMATIC has partnered with both Disney and Highsnobiety to celebrate this commemoration with the design of an exclusive diving watch, produced in a limited edition run of 100 pieces. Referencing the token Mickey Mouse watch memorabilia that since its debut has become a coveted collector’s item, the design further evokes the spirit of Fantasia.
Crafted in Italy, the UNIMATIC U1S-HS watch is a slim professional diving watch made of brushed stainless steel centered by the unmistakable Mickey Mouse character from Fantasia donning the red robe and navy sorcerer hat.
Each timepiece includes interchangeable straps in navy, burgundy and black and is marked with Disney x UNIMATIC x Highsnobiety engraving and individual progressive number on the caseback.
The Disney Fantasia x Highsnobiety collection is available for purchase at Highsnobiety Shop from October 19, 2022.
