For the first time, Mido has created a skeleton watch especially dedicated to women. The new and audacious Mido Rainflower Blossom features delicate lines, directly inspired by the lotus flower shape of Singapore’s contemporary ArtScience Museum.
The face of the Rainflower Blossom features an iridescent mother-of-pearl flower, adorned with a rose-gold-coloured polished border. Its openwork petals playfully reveal the beating heart of the watch.
Glimpsed among other delicate and finely decorated mechanical details are the regular palpitations of the escape wheel and the oscillations of the balance at 12 o’clock. Polished rose-gold-coloured indexes mark the hours, illuminating this gracious yet daring display.
For perfect legibility, the intense beauty of the black varnished hands, which have been finely skeletonised for the hours and minutes, stands out against the dial.
The charms of the Rainflower Blossom are nestled within a rose-gold-coloured steel case, its sides polished and sandblasted to resemble petals. This composition, designed to draw the eye, continues onto the wrist, with a crocodile-look cow leather black strap.
The transparent case back reveals the very precise Caliber 80 fitted with a Nivachron™ balance-spring. In addition to excellent resistance to shocks and wear and tear, this material considerably reduces the effect of magnetic fields on the regularity of the watch.
Its visible oscillating weight is adorned with a “Rainflower” decoration, its interlaced lines reminiscent of the core of the Singapore ArtScience museum that inspired it. Particularly reputed for its reliability, the Caliber 80 offers an excellent power reserve of up to 80 hours.
