Blending retro style with extreme reliability, the Mido Multifort Powerwind Chronometer marks a major milestone in the Swiss watch brand’s history and its lifelong watchmaking expertise.
Limited to 1954 pieces, this timepiece is named after the revolutionary “Powerwind” model released in 1954, which was Mido’s most precise and reliable movement at the time.
The retro design of the Multifort Powerwind Chronometer is inspired by past Multifort models. The sunray satin-finished domed dial is an intense midnight blue, with splashes of rose gold colour on the applied indexes, diamond-cut hands and hour circle.
White Super-LumiNova®, applied to the hour and minute hands, the 12 points and quarter-hour indexes, offers perfect legibility day and night. The vintage style “glassbox” sapphire crystal covers the dial.
Like Mido’s historic creations, the stainless steel case is fitted with a polished and satin-finished screwed case back engraved with a serial number and limited edition number.
With alternating satin-finished and polished surfaces, this 40 mm diameter case is water-resistant up to a pressure of 5 bar (50 m / 165 ft) and reaffirms its chic look with a 7-row strap, featuring central links in the form of delicately polished beads of rice. This integrated steel strap offers unrivalled comfort and is fitted with a folding clasp with push-buttons.
While the new Multifort Powerwind Chronometer pays tribute to the classic elegance of the first Powerwind timepieces presented by Mido in 1954, this limited edition offers impeccable time measurement thanks to the best in contemporary technology. Its automatic caliber is COSC-certified and offers a precise display of the hours, minutes, seconds, date and day functions.
Its components are finely decorated according to watchmaking tradition, with blued screws and oscillating weight decorated with Geneva stripes and the Mido logo.
Every watch in this numbered series of 1,954 timepieces is presented in a special case and accompanied by a COSC certificate and a limited edition certificate.
