BOLDR presents Odyssey Freediver GMT, a slender ‘true’ GMT diver watch with a 300m water resistance. This adventure-centric dive watch houses the tried and tested Miyota 9075 automatic GMT movement.
The brand has been already offering two GMT watches namely the Globetrotter GMT and Venture GMT. Odyssey Freediver GMT is BOLDR’s first GMT dive watch.
A new addition to the Singapore-based company’s Odyssey Freediver series, this new timepiece boasts a surgical steel case measuring 44mm in diameter and 12.5mm in thickness (excluding sapphire glass).
The case is satin finished with polished edges on its signature angular lugs. Building on previous versions of BOLDR Odysseys, the updated slimmer profile lends a sleek, elegant touch that blurs the lines between adventure and professionalism.
Miyota 9075 caliber is a hi-beat ‘true’ GMT movement that ticks at rate of 28,000 bph. Offering seamless timekeeping, the watch is ideal for travelers and those who wish to track more than one timezone.
Adjusting the watch in various locales is a breeze by ‘jumping’ the hour hand in its first crown position, independent of the GMT and minute hand. It does not interfere with the running movement, while the date also corrects itself either forward or in retrograde as the hour hand is wound.
Perhaps the most striking feature on the watch is its dial, designed with a gradient effect inspired by varying light activity visible to a submerged diver. A translucent dial center alludes to being closer to the surface, getting darker towards the dial edges to signify increasing ocean depth.
The watch face is also kept in balance by a custom date window that sits level with the eye-line between 4 and 5 o’clock for better readability.
Fitted with a scratch-resistant two-tone ceramic bezel, divers can utilize the 120-click unidirectional wheel for tracking elapsed time underwater, while travelers monitor up to three time zones. The bezels come in three classic color options: black & moss-green, black & chocolate brown, and black & crimson red.
Each model comes with a stainless steel bracelet and Druber® strap, both with quick release functions. The case back features custom artwork of the Cuvier’s beaked whale, depicted having a wonderful time surfing a series of waves. The artwork was inspired by the famous Japanese Great Wave of Kanagawa.
