Mido has launched a special edition of its Ocean Star GMT watch. This new model with a 44 mm diameter stainless steel case boasts an intense blue dial evoking the maritime DNA the iconic Ocean Star collection.
Equipped with a reliable automatic movement offering very practical GMT function, this sporty-elegant watch is fitted on a steel bracelet that can be quickly interchanged with its second strap.
The Mido Ocean Star GMT special edition watch has a lustrous high-tech ceramic bezel that perfectly complements the deep velvety blue of the dial. The dual time zone display allows the wearer to read local time and the time in a distant destination.
The diamond-cut hands with central grooves indicate the hours and minutes in the first time zone. A red varnished hand points towards the flange of the dial, which is marked with 24 hour intervals, to create an intuitive and clearly legible second time zone. Its display places daytime hours against a red background, and night-time hours against a blue background.
White Super-LumiNova® on each of the hands, the indexes, and the dot at 12 o’clock on the bezel allows the wearer to keep track of time, even in the dark. An aperture at 3 o’clock displays the date. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment protects the dial.
The screwed-down stainless steel case back of the new Ocean Star GMT Special Edition is engraved with time zones and serial number.
The self-winding Caliber 80 provides up to 80 hours of power reserve. Its components are finely decorated in line with watchmaking tradition, with Geneva stripes and the Mido logo on the oscillating weight.
This new Ocean Star offers water-resistance of up to 20 bar (200 m/660 ft). The outer bezel is unidirectional. Mido is presenting this special edition of the Ocean Star GMT in an exclusive case with a second strap.
For the first time, the satin-finished steel bracelet – with polished central links and equipped with a diving extension – incorporates a bar with a spur system, making it easy to swap for the second strap in blue fabric with red and white stripes.
Both the bracelet and strap perfectly complement the stainless steel case, which alternates polished and satin-finished surfaces and has a screwed case back engraved with the time zones.
