Porsche Design has launched the 911 GT3 RS chronograph exclusively for buyers of the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS and GT3 RS with the Weissach Package.
Made of titanium and glass-bead blasted, the light-weight yet durable case comes in black or a natural finish. It is water-resistant up to 5 bar (50 meters). The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, with seven-fold antireflective coating on both sides, guarantees optimum readability. Chronograph pushers with laser engravings of ‘Start/Stop’ and ‘Next Lap’ highlight the motor-racing origins of these timepieces.
The carbon-fiber dial comes with white hour and minute indexes made of ceramic Super-LumiNova® luminous material. The hands in white, black and yellow evoke the motorsport DNA of these chronographs.
The matte black seconds disc at 9 o’clock features white ‘911 GT3 RS’ lettering, red and white curbs design, and a ‘BORN IN FLACHT’ imprint in the center of the seconds disc.
The chronograph second and 30-minute counter display precise proof as to whether the best time has been beaten upon crossing the finish line. The Porsche Design watch configurator offers a selection of nine colors for the customized ring around the dial.
Made of titanium and in the selected case color, the case-back of the timepiece can be customized with text up to 12 characters long, such as the vehicle identification number (VIN), for example. The sapphire-crystal case back provides a clear view of the rotor and the other movement parts.
Made of titanium or titanium with black titanium carbide coating, the bezel has a pulsometer scale. The bezel is also available with a tachymeter or minute display.
Equipped with the COSC-certified Porsche Design WERK 01.200 with a flyback function, the Porsche Design 911 GT3 RS chronograph is an ideal timekeeping instrument for racing drivers and professionals. In addition, the winding rotor reflects the wheel rim design of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS.
The Weissach RS Rotor features the same rim design as the lightweight magnesium forged wheel that is an exclusive component of the 911 GT3 RS with the Weissach Package.
The colors available are Brilliant Silver, Neodyme, Black Satin, Dark Silver, Indigo Blue, and Pyro Red. The stylish finishing touch is the new black rotor cap, which echoes the wheel’s center lock with the RS logo emblazoned in Brilliant Silver.
The leather strap included with the timepiece is made of genuine Porsche vehicle leather and is an extension of selected interior elements.
These straps features elaborate perforation and backing made of Race-Tex in the selected accent color (GT Silver or Guards Red) as well as the decorative stitching made of vehicle yarn in the accent color.
The chronograph can also be equipped with high-quality metal straps made of titanium. In addition, carefully crafted leather straps are available in the original Porsche colors of the 911 (992) configurator. All straps come with a quick-change mechanism and a folding clasp with pushers that match the case color.
