Swiss luxury watch manufacture Ulysse Nardin has released the limited edition “Great White” 44mm Diver Chronograph with an aim to support of shark conservation initiatives.
Ulysse Nardin is active in the conservation of sharks, one of the emblems of the iconic Swiss watch manufacturer. The brand also supports various global initiatives to reduce marine plastic pollution.
The brand has a remarkable tradition of making shark-themed timepieces. The very first DIVER Hammerhead shark watch was created in 2010. Ulysse Nardin launched the DIVER GREAT WHITE watch in 2018 and the DIVER BLUE SHARK model in 2019.
In 2021, the company created the DIVER LEMON SHARK timepiece with the Florida International University.
This year, Ulysse Nardin has partnered with 1% FOR THE PLANET (a global organization that supports environmental protection activities) and Shark Trust, the renowned shark conservation charity based in UK. To support the extraordinary activities of these organizations, the Swiss watch manufacture has released the limited edition Diver Chronograph Great White.
Water resistant to 300 meters, the new Ulysse Nardin Diver 44mm chronograph has a sandblasted and satin-finish titanium case. It is mounted with a white, unidirectional, rotating, rubberized bezel. The Great White shark is stamped on the case back. The concave bezel with a domed sapphire glass creates a sleek look.
This diving timepiece houses the Caliber UN -150 self-winding chronograph movement featuring Silicium Escapement wheel, anchor & balance spring.
The new Diver Chronograph Great White has a grey sand-blasted dial inspired by the shark skin. Touched with blue and white details, the dial features a 30- minute counter, a 12-hour counter and a small second counter with the date. The lettering “GREAT WHITE” appears below the Ulysse Nardin logo. The hands & indexes are coated with Super-LumiNova.
The white rubber strap features a Super-LumiNova applied silhouette of the Great White shark. The Diver Chronograph 44 mm Great White is available in a limited series of just 300 pieces. 1 % of the revenues from sales of this watch will be donated to support non-profit organizations focused on sharks.
The approximate retail price of Ulysse Nardin 44mm Diver Chronograph Great White is 13,300 USD with tang buckle and 13,600 USD with deployant buckle.
