Oris Big Crown Wings of Hope Limited Edition

Oris has announced a partnership with the pioneering aeronautical humanitarian organisation Wings of Hope. To mark this collaboration, the Swiss watch manufacturer has released two limited- edition wristwatches powered by Calibre 401.

Wings of Hope is a US-based aeronautical humanitarian organisation founded 60 years ago. Twice nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize, Wings of Hope has used the power of aviation to bring medical support to remote and vulnerable communities in more than 50 countries. In 2021, more than 65,000 people used the organisation’s programmes and services.

The Oris Wings of Hope Limited Edition watches are based on the Swiss brand’s iconic Big Crown pilot’s watch. Two models are available, one in stainless steel and the second watch in 18ct yellow gold.

Limited to 1,000 pieces, the stainless steel Wings of Hope watch comes with a 40 mm diameter case. Limited to 100 pieces, the 18-carat yellow gold variant features a 38mm case. Its case, crown and case back are all solid gold. Both models spotlight off-white dial.

The dial features Arabic numeral hour-markers, two centre hands for indicating the hour and minutes, black minute track and small seconds.

The hour-markers are applied with Super-LumiNova® material in mint green color for the stainless steel model and in golden beige for the 18-carat yellow gold Wings of Hope watch. Featuring the identical color of the case, the hour and minute hands are also treated with Super-LumiNova®. The small seconds hand is in red color.

Oris has equipped the Big Crown Wings of Hope watches with Calibre 401, the in-house developed mechanical self-winding with a power reserve of five days. The mechanism of the watch is visible through the exhibition case-back.

Both timepieces come on sustainable deer leather straps manufactured by Swiss company Cervo Volante. Fitted with a screw-in crown, sapphire crystal glass and screwed case-back, the watch is water resistant to 50 meters.

The suggested retail price of the Oris Big Crown Wings of Hope Steel watch is CHF 3,300 (appx. US$ 3,430/-). The cost of 18K yellow gold version is CHF 15,500 (appx. US$ 16,118/-).
