During the Watches and Wonders exhibition in 2022, Rolex unveiled a really cool Platinum Day-Date 40 model with an ice blue dial.
At the same time, the brand has also expanded the Oyster Perpetual Day-Date collection by adding several other versions of the 40mm Day-Date watch with platinum or 18 carat yellow gold case. All the watches come with the luxurious President bracelet, which features semi-circular three-piece links and a concealed folding Crownclasp.
All the new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 watches are equipped with the Calibre 3255, a self-winding movement with a weekend-proof power reserve of 70 hours. They display the day of the week at 12 o’clock and the date at 3 o’clock.
Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 Platinum
Twelve new platinum models have been added. Made of 950 platinum, these references feature fluted bezel. The dial choices include Bright black, Bright blue, Diamond-paved, Ice-blue with sun-brush or diagonal motif, Meteorite, Olive Green, Silver, Slate and White.
Depending upon the model, the dial comes with any of the following configurations:
- Baton-shaped hour-markers
- Baguette-set diamond hour markers
- Combination of baton indices and Roman numerals
The new references with baton hour markers feature the Chromalight luminescent coating on the hands and indexes, offering long-lasting blue luminescence. Featuring sun-brush finish or diagonal-motif, the versions with Ice-blue dial come with blued central seconds hand.

Rolex has added three new Day-Date 40 yellow gold references with fluted bezels. They respectively feature diamond-paved, Onyx and Green dials.

Both Diamond-paved and Onyx dial versions feature baguette-cut diamond hour markers. The new Yellow Gold Day-Date 40mm references with Green dial spotlight a combination of baton and Roman numeral hour markers.
