Japanese fine watchmaking brand NAOYA HIDA & Co. presents NH TYPE 3B, a modified version of its hand-wound NH TYPE 3A moon-phase watch.
Inspired by the vintage watches, the NH TYPE 3B features a moderately small 37 mm diameter case made of superior grade SUS 904L stainless steel.
Like its predecessor (NH TYPE 3A), this new watch features a large moon phase display mechanism at 6 o’clock of its gleaming German silver dial. The moon phase disc is made of 18-carat yellow gold, and the surface faces of the stars and moon are all hand-engraved by skilled craftsmen.
Its rounded bezel is inspired by the vintage complication watches of the 1930s and 1960s. The NAOYA HIDA & Co. NH TYPE 3B watch houses a hand-wound calibre.
The manual-winding movement Ca.3021LU, which incorporates a newly developed click mechanism in the base movement, the ETA Valjoux 7751, allows the wearer to enjoy the feel of winding the watch.
The Roman hour markers on the dial are entirely hand-engraved by skilled craftsmen. Synthetic lacquer (cashew) is then poured over them to give them a unique finish.
Introduced in 2021, NH TYPE 3A was the third model from NAOYA HIDA & Co. It stands out with a unique moon-phase display. NH TYPE 3B is a new variant based on this design.
The new generation NH TYPE 3B watch comes with some design enhancements in comparison with NH TYPE 3A. Firstly, the case back has changed from a snap back to a screw case back.
The lateral shape of the lugs has also changed. The hand-engraved moon face has a slightly different design to that of the NH TYPE 3A.
Just like all NAOYA HIDA & Co. watches, this model will be produced in limited quantities only. In 2022 – 2023, only 15 NH TYPE 3B variants will be manufactured.
