NAOYA HIDA & Co. has launched NH TYPE1D, the fourth model in its TYPE1 series.
It is a new addition to the Japanese luxury watch brand’s mechanical watch series featuring a small seconds dial at 9 o’clock. The first two models in this line-up are NH TYPE 1B & NH TYPE1C. Both of them are now sold out and discontinued.
In comparison with its predecessors, NH TYPE1D features some design enhancements. Made of SUS 904L stainless steel, it features a screw-in caseback where as the earlier models were launched with snap on case-backs. The lateral shape of the lugs has also been changed.
The seconds scale on the small seconds circle at 9 o’clock is now a separate component. Additionally, supplier and material of the leather strap supplied as standard changed.
The design of NH TYPE1D is based on vintage watches from the 1930s and 1950s, but with a modern and practical case diameter of 37 mm. It also features a curved sapphire crystal glass on the top.
This NAOYA HIDA & Co. watch comes with a German silver dial featuring blued hands and a small seconds dial. The Breguet numerals on the dial are entirely hand-engraved by skilled craftsmen. The unique finish of the hour markers is a result of applying synthetic lacquer (cashew). The hands are hand polished after cutting with micro-fabrication machine.
The NH TYPE1D is driven by a manual-winding movement Ca.3019SS, which incorporates a newly developed click mechanism in the base movement, the ETA Valjoux 7750.
