Seiko Watch Corporation has announced the re-launch of its iconic King Seiko collection. The much awaited revival series includes five references: SPB279, SPB281, SPB283, SPB285 and SPB287.
The King Seiko range was introduced in the 1960s. Together with Grand Seiko, it established the company’s capability to produce high precision mechanical wristwatches with magnificent design and finishing. Now, after almost 50 years of its launch, Seiko has revived this fabulous timekeeper. The new King Seiko timepieces proudly showcase Seiko’s mechanical watchmaking expertise.

The distinctively sharp and angular design of these new timepieces is inspired by the 1965 King Seiko KSK. The combination of a flat dial with faceted indexes and broad, razor-edged hands gives the watch a refined and striking presence. The bold, faceted lugs have sharp angles and wide flat surfaces that feature both mirror and hairline finishing. The twelve o’clock index is more than twice the width of the others. Boasting a unique patterned texture, it ensures high legibility and bestows the dial a brilliant shine.

The classic 37mm diameter stainless steel case is topped with a boxed-shaped sapphire crystal, providing the timepiece a slim and elegant outlook. The inner surface of the crystal features anti-reflective coating to ensure high dial visibility from any angle. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters.

The crown and case back bear the new King Seiko emblem whose design was inspired by that of the 1965 KSK. The new King Seiko watch comes with Caliber 6R31. This 24 jewel automatic movement provides a power reserve of 70 hours.
Also made of stainless steel, the bracelet is inspired by the design of the original King Seiko series. Its beveled surfaces offer dynamic and ever-changing light reflections.

The new King Seiko series proposes five dial colors: silver, light gray, charcoal gray, brown and red. The light gray dial features a subtle hairline pattern, while the other four have a beautiful sunray finish.

The brand has also announced the launch of five alternative leather straps specially designed for the new collection.
All the new King Seiko watches will be available from February 2022 at the Seiko Boutiques and selected retailers worldwide.
