Grand Seiko marks 20th anniversary of the brand’s first GMT watch by launching a special edition model from its Sport Collection.
Its captivating dial texture evokes the wintery snowcaps of the mountains that surround the Shinshu studio in central Japan. The case and bracelet of this GMT watch are in stainless steel. The blue accents echo the bright blue color of the winter sky in the region.
This timepiece is equipped with the Spring Drive GMT Caliber 9R16 with automatic movement. Thanks to Grand Seiko’s in-house technology, the seconds hand glides silently and smoothly across the dial, perfectly reflecting the continuous flow of time.
The power reserve is 72 hours when fully wound and is shown on the discreet indicator next to the eight o’clock marker. The GMT hand allows a second time zone to be shown and a third can also be displayed using the 24-hour bezel.
The caliber offers an enhanced accuracy rate of ±10 seconds per month. The see-through case back affords the view of the oscillating weight adorned with 18K gold Grand Seiko lion emblem.
For ensuring visibility of the indications around the clock, the watch features Lumibrite on the bezel, indexes and hour, minute and GMT hands.
The new Spring Drive GMT watch (reference SBGE275) will be available as a limited edition of 1,500 at the Grand Seiko Boutiques and selected retailers worldwide in March 2022.
