The French Air & Space Forces have recently merged, which marks the launch of a new collaboration with YEMA through the release of the new Flygraf French Air & Space Force collection of military pilots’ tool watches.
This new YEMA watch collection consists of two automatic GMT models proposed as a limited series of 500 exclusive timepieces each, two meca-quartz chronographs with UTC functionality, as well as the very first French Air Force military watch exclusively designed for ladies. All models are available to the French military and the general public.
The aviation-style hands resemble those navigation instruments that can be found onboard fighter jet cockpits and are designed to offer high contrast and good legibility in all lighting conditions.
The 39mm case with integrated crown guards is made in 316L stainless steel in black PVD coating with a distinguished vertical brushed effect.
Responding to the request of French Air & Space Force fighter jet pilots who carry out military missions all around the world, the brand has equipped this professional tool-watch with a GMT function allowing the simultaneous reading of 2-time zones.
The French Air & Space Force national insignia is beautifully embedded on the crown under a crystal coating. YEMA’s GMT In-house Caliber is powered by optimized components yielding slightly better performance than similar Standard Grade calibers, offering a Daily Rate of +/- 10 s/d and a 42h power reserve.
The dial’s striated and vertically brushed finish is reminiscent of the military aircraft fuselages. It proudly displays the mention French Air & Space Force official logo at 6 o’clock.
About Yema X French Air & Space Force Collaboration
The first YEMA French Air Force tool watches were designed back in the 1970’s to equip the Air Force Diver Rescuers team during helicopter-borne sea rescue missions.
Later on, the watches were also used by fighter pilots, making the YEMA Superman a unique SEAAIR military tool watch. The French Air & Space Forces having recently merged, this marks the launch of a new collaboration with YEMA through the release of a new collection of military Flygraf tool watches specifically designed for fighter jet pilots.
For the first time in their history, the French Air & Space Force military are equipped with an official space strap. Jointly designed with the military, this strap is made of two-piece black nylon. The 316L stainless steel bracelet in black PVD coating with secure-lock comes with a divers extension so it can be easily and quickly adjusted over a fighter jet pilot’s suit. French Air & Space Force’s official logo is engraved on the clasp.
