The Marloe Watch Company has partnered with the Campbell Family Heritage Trust to create a limited edition watch to celebrate the centenary of Donald Campbell’s birthday.
This 100 piece edition marks the 100th year from the day Donald Campbell was brought into this world, and with this unique conduit of memory we celebrate the inimitable speed master.
Donald Campbell was a pioneering spirit with a passion for speed throughout his life, from tinkering with his father’s old race cars, to his futuristic Bluebird CN7 that set the world land speed record at Lake Eyre in Australia in 1964.
His passion has been reflected in the new Centenary Edition watch by Marloe – with his iconic Bluebird logo taking centre stage on the dial, which is surrounded by a moat of lume which glows blue – Donald’s lucky colour.
Its exhibition caseback with Donald’s signature displays the Miyota 8N33 hand winding movement that beats at 21,600bph.
This watch is a true celebration of Donald – heavenly in its presentation – classic, clean and uncomplicated. The Marloe logo, printed in clear varnish, takes a back seat to focus the attention on the bluebird which pays tribute to the Campbell legacy – whilst the gold detailing celebrates Donald’s achievements. The watch comes in a polished bespoke case with a sapphire domed crystal with anti-reflective coating. The watch is paired with an ‘of-the-era’ vintage rally sports strap.
The Coniston Centenary Edition watch is priced at £399. It is available to pre-order from 15th October 2021 and shipping from 25th October. This hand-wound Marloe timepiece is limited to 100 pieces.
