ARTISANS DE GENEVE, the bespoke watchmaking workshop based in Geneva, Switzerland, has recently finished a custom watch project with code name: The Shades of Blue. This personalization was ordered by a customer, who owns a Rolex® Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona, for his private use.
As desired by a private customer, the Geneva atelier has commissioned a customized Rolex® 116500 watch. The dial of ‘The Shades of Blue’ features a matt intense blue that enhances the overall contrast and intensity of the timepiece. ARTISANS DE GENEVE added sky blue counters and steel hands for a distinctive allure. The blue bakelite bezel is a nod to vintage watches.
The 4130 movement is polished and beveled by hand, the upper automatic bridge and the balance bridge are hand-beveled, embellished by “Côtes de Genève” and circular satin-brushed finishings.
The case has been machined and polished by hand, the original pushers have been replaced by “Millerighe” ones, completing the vintage feel. The transparent sapphire glass back allows one to fully appreciate the movement and rotor.
The watch is supplied with an additional leather alligator strap that perfects its vintage look. Its folding clasp was specially developed and engraved by Artisans de Genève.
