Konstantin Chaykin Martian Tourbillon Only Watch 2021 Piece Unique

Konstantin Chaykin, member of the Academy of Independent Creators in Watchmaking (AHCI), has created a unique timepiece to support the Only Watch 2021 charity auction. The Martian Tourbillon Only Watch 2021 Piece Unique is the first tourbillon in the world to tick in sync with the rotation of Mars.

The Martian Tourbillon Only Watch 2021 Piece Unique is the first wristwatch from the Russian creator to have a tourbillon, and the world’s first Martian tourbillon, making a revolution every 61.65 seconds – the duration of one Mars minute – partially reducing the effects of Mars’ gravity.

The hand-wound Calibre K.22-0 has been developed from scratch. At its heart is a Martian tourbillon with “alpha” carriage, as used in all of Konstantin Chaykin’s tourbillons. For this watch, Konstantin Chaykin created a unique skeletonized dial with Joker-indication, the face of the Joker-Martian, for which he created the world’s first Martian calendar device, working based on the algorithms of Thomas Gangale’s calendar system.

The trademark smile of this new Wristmon is used not as a moonphase indicator but as a representation of the Martian month, consisting of 28 sols, with the sol numeral markers made with symbols of the Martian numbering system that Konstantin Chaykin invented specially for this watch. The same symbols are used in the Martian hours and minutes markers.
