The Historiador Retrógrado watch by Cuervo y Sobrinos features an unusual date indication. A long hand, positioned adjacent the crown, follows an arcing downward path, from ‘1’ to ‘31’. As the last few minutes of the 31st day elapse, the blued hand returns to its point of origin and commences a new journey. At 6 o’clock, a silver-toned hand indicates the power reserve.

For day of the week display, the Historiador Retrógrado employs a silver-toned hand, positioned at 9 o’clock, which points to a track marked with days of the week, presented on an upper and lower scale.

The rhodium-plated hour and minute hands float above a cobalt blue dial are adorned with ‘Clous de Paris’. Both hands are treated with Super-LumiNova™, enhancing readability in restricted light. Eight pyramidal indexes grace a smooth hour track, which is also marked with silver-hued Roman numerals. A central sweep seconds hand converses with the chemin de fer encircling the dial. Each element of the dial is discreet and seemly.

The Historiador Retrógrado features a classic, refines case with 40mm diameter. The elongated lugs provide greater wearer comfort. The double curved sapphire glass reinforces the sense of nostalgia as well as allowing light to flood the dial surface, augmenting readability.

The Swiss movement housed within the Historiador Retrógrado, the Calibre CYS 6330, is automatic. The oscillating weight features a fan decoration and CyS engraving. Cuervo y Sobrinos branding can also be seen on the dial with an applied CyS emblem.
