After the unprecedented success of the Modello Uno U1-SP, the limited edition NASA commemoration watch, Italian watch brand UNIMATIC presents the new Modello Tre U3-AS Apollo Soyuz Limited Edition.
Limited edition of 200 pieces, this automatic wristwatch celebrates of the Apollo Soyuz 1975 mission and also pays homage to the Russian architect and designer of the Soviet Space Programme – Galina Andreevna Balashova, who created the legendary Apollo-Soyuz logo.
Her pioneer work with the space program included the design of the interiors, furniture, control panels, decorative logos and murals for interior walls. As an archetype of the soviet space design she used contrasting colours in the interiors to solve the immense problem of the disorientation in the zero gravity environments.
The new Modello Tre chrono-diver U3-AS Unimatic embeds for the first time a rotating tachymeter insert bezel. The watch has 300m diving grade water resistance.
It features a two-eyed black matte dial with the emblematic blue and red Apollo-Soyuz logo on the 24h sub-dial.
The creamy Super LumiNova® Old Radium markers add a distinguished feel to the familiar Unimatic chronograph design. The oversized screw-down chrono push signature vintage dimension adds a bold presence on the wrist.
The solid stainless case-back of the watch celebrates the work of the Galina Andreevna Balashova with a depiction of one of her iconic design. The reference is fitted on a galaxy blue cordura two piece strap equipped with stainless steel brushed hardware signed Unimatic.
The watch is housed in a uniquely branded Unimatic tough case with an extra ‘Made in Italy’ black laser etched premium buccaneer leather strap that depicts the architect’s design of the section view of the Soyuz 19 orbital module.
The kit is accompanied by an individually numbered unique print of Galina A. Balashova’s design featuring embossed Unimatic branding, Apollo-Soyuz mission logo and the architect’s signature.
