Introduced in 2021, the new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer 36mm in Oystersteel features a distinctive black dial with characteristic 3, 6, and 9 numerals. It houses Caliber 3230, a new generation self-winding movement introduced in 2020.
During the Watches and Wonders event in April 2021, Rolex unveiled a new 36mm Yellow Rolesor Explorer (in 18 carat yellow gold and oyster steel) version. Soon after this, Rolex added a new model in Oyster steel case and black dial. The highly legible dial of this new reference features characteristic 3, 6 and 9 numerals filled with Chromalight (a proprietary luminescent coating) that emits a long-lasting blue glow. Its hour markers and hands are also embedded with this superior luminescent coating.
The Rolex Explorer watch features a smooth bezel. Robust yet elegant, it maintains perfect harmony with the Explorer’s iconic heritage. Water resistance of the new model is 100 meters. The watch comes with an Oyster steel bracelet. Developed in house, Calibre 3230 incorporates the Chronergy escapement patented by Rolex. This self-winding perpetual movement provides a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
