In addition to the new generation Explorer II 42mm watch with a white lacquer dial introduced during the Watches and Wonders event in April 2021, Rolex presents a new 42mm Oyster steel version featuring a black dial.

Belongs to the latest generation, the new Rolex Oyster Perpetual Explorer II watch in Oystersteel features a black dial with hour-markers with a Chromalight display. The 42 mm diameter Oyster steel case is topped with a 24-hour fixed bezel. The watch has an additional orange-colored 24-hour hand that circles the dial in 24 hours rather than the usual 12, pointing to a fixed bezel with 24 hour graduations.

Its highly legible dial hosts a date display at 3 o’ clock. The sapphire crystal glass features a Cyclops lens over the date. The proprietary Chromalight display offers a long-lasting blue luminescence. This  Explorer II watch is equipped with Rolex calibre 3285, a new-generation self-winding movement entirely developed and manufactured in-house.

The automatic 3285 movement features a Chronergy escapement and a guaranteed power reserve of approximately 70 hours. Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 3285 is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. The 3285 is equipped with a Parachrom hairspring, offering greater resistance to shocks and to temperature variations.

The Rolex Explorer II watch is water resistant up to 100 meters. It comes with an Oystersteel bracelet.
