British watch brand Pompeak presents its new timepiece, the Sub-Aquatic. Equipped with Swiss movement and designed in Britain, this new series offers exceptional dive watches under £500.
Sub-Aquatic is a recreational dive watch with a water resistance of 200 meters (20 ATM). It comes with a 40mm diameter case made of 904L stainless steel, a superior grade steel alloy.
The case is aesthetically enhanced with polished and brushed finish. It is equipped with a 120 click unidirectional (only rotate counter clockwise) bezel with a scratch-proof ceramic bezel insert. A diving bezel is a critical component of modern dive watches and used to measure total dive time and decompression stops. The watch also features crown guards for protecting the crown at 3 o’clock.
The Pompeak Sub-Aquatic watch is topped with a double-domed, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflection coating for ensuring a clear view of the dial. The watch displays basic timekeeping functions with an arrow-shaped hour-hand, a sword-shaped minute hand and a centre-seconds hands featuring red arrow tip. It has a rectangular date-window 3 o’clock.
For this model, the brand proposes two dial designs. The first option is a 3D textured dial with bold hands and applied indexes, and the Second option is a clear, deep blue/black gradient dial.
For ensuring the visibility of indications underwater of in the dark conditions, this timepiece features Swiss Super-LumiNova BGW9 filled hands, indices and bezel. The BGW9 Lume radiates a long-lasting, blue glow in the darkness.
Powering the Pompeak Sub-Aquatic watch is a contemporary mechanical self-winding movement made in Switzerland. Known for its reliability and precision, the Sellita SW200-1 movement provides 38 hours power reserve when fully wound. Beats at 28,800 Vibrations per hour, the special features of this 26-jewel automatic movement include: hacking, hand winding and a quick set date function. This work-horse movement is visible through the transparent case back.
Sub-Aquatic is a spectacular blend of British design, high quality materials and Swiss automatic movements, with a price point to contrast the premium features. The watch is available with the choice of a classic stainless steel link bracelet with highly polished center links, complete with a sliding micro adjust clasp or an extremely durable rubber strap with quick release pins.
To promote the Sub-Aquatic watch collection, Pompeak launched a Kickstarter campaign on 6th April 2021. This is the third online crowd funding campaign from the brand.
Pompeak was founded by two brothers, David and Noah Pomphrey. Earlier, the brand successfully conducted two Kickstarter crowd funding campaigns respectively in 2019 for its minimalistic quartz chronograph collection and in 2020 for the Open-heart automatic collection.
Promoting their new British-designed, Swiss-powered automatic diving watch collection, the existing campaign is ending on 6th May 2021. During this period the brand is offering special Kickstarter price packages for the new Sub-Aquatic watch.
