Minase Horizon

The Minase Horizon watch gives off an impression of serenity as well of power, reminding of the clear cuts of a Japanese sword, a Katana. Conceived of pure and simple drawn lines, the « Horizon » watches combine both the case and the bracelet (or the strap) on a single level.

Minase Horizon

The sapphire glass has a non-reflective coating and is spherical on both axes so that it brings out the contrast between the clear base and the polished satiny surface of the casing. It has a very singular shape that testimonies a high degree of manual finishing. For thinner wrists, Horizon also exists in MID-SIZE version, a slightly smaller and very elegant alternative.

Manufactured in Japan, all Horizon timepieces by Minase bear the registered label “HiZ”, a concept inspired by the Japanese words “Hizu” (exceptional) and “Hi Izuru Kuni” (Land of the Rising Sun).

Minase Horizon

The products labelled “HiZ” are unique with innovative features such as the “case in case” structure, the extraordinary “Sallaz” polishing technique and the construction principle called “MORE” (Minase Original Rebuild Equation).

Minase’s signature polyhedral crown bears the brand’s logo. A drill-head that pays homage to the origins of the parent company, Kyowa, a renowned tool manufacturer that has been in business since 1963, specializing in step drills and also a supplier of high-end watch components.

The “case in case” structure does not feature a dial in the typical sense. It consists of several elements made in steel, creating the heart of each watch. The index ring, the dial plate and the case back surround the movement and create a separate entity or form that seems suspended inside the watch itself. A large cut opening reveals the calendar disc. This three-dimensional ensemble – completed with hands with curved tips – is securely positioned inside the case.

Minase Horizon

Meticulously finished using the high-end Sallaz polishing, mirror polished surfaces of the case stand in contrast to the satin surfaces.

The Minase Horizon watch is available with a synthetic rubber band or stainless steel bracelet.

Unlike typical bracelets, there are no pinholes on the links. This produces a compact design with extreme flexibility. Since a large number of parts can be disassembled, repair or replacement is easy allowing the watch to keep its original beauty for generations.
