This year, Rolex presents the new Oyster Perpetual Explorer 36 Yellow Rolesor version. With a 36 mm diameter case, it returns to the size of the original model launched in 1953.
Rolesor, the combination of 18 ct gold and Oystersteel on a Rolex watch, has been a signature feature of the brand since 1933, when the name was registered.
On the yellow Rolesor version of the new-generation Explorer, the bezel, winding crown and centre links of the bracelet are in 18 ct yellow gold, while the case and outer links of the bracelet are in Oystersteel.
The 36 mm Oyster case is waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet). It has a sapphire crystal glass on the dial side. The rear side of its Oystersteel middle case is secured with a fine fluted case-back, which is hermetically screwed down with a special tool that allows only Rolex watchmakers to access the movement. The yellow gold Twinlock winding crown with double waterproofness system screws down securely against the case.
A certified Superlative Chronometer, the new-generation Explorer house the calibre 3230. Introduced in 2020, this state-of-the-art self-winding mechanical movement was entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. It has a power reserve of 70 hours.
The Yellow Rolesor Oyster bracelet on this new watch features the Oysterlock folding safety clasp, Easylink comfort extension link, and a concealed attachment system that ensures seamless visual continuity between the bracelet and case.
