Exclusively dedicated to the modern woman, the Mido Rainflower watch takes inspiration from the floral architecture of the Singapore ArtScience Museum. Reflecting the delicate beauty of the monument, interlaced petals ornament the dial and sides of the case, while sapphires punctuate its harmonious face.
A symbol of purity and infinity, the lotus flower unfurls its beauty across aquatic landscapes. With its white petals open to the Singaporean sky, the ArtScience Museum, too, seems to float above the water. The curves of this architectural marvel inspired by Nature were a source of creativity for Mido, giving rise to the smooth lines of the Rainflower collection devoted to women.
Mido also shares a vocation of sustainability with this exceptional edifice. The latter collects rainwater on its roof to reuse it in a virtuous cycle, while the former crafts watches designed to defy time.
The Rainflower reveals colours of great purity: a grained white dial, illuminated with eight pale pink sapphires on the hour circle. A lotus motif blooms on this clear surface, like an invitation to breathe freely and live life to the full. Polished baton indexes take their positions at the quarter-hours of this delicate floral ballet. The date, at 6 o’clock, is as discreet as it is useful for exploring everyday pleasures. The diamond-cut sparkle of the hands – finely skeletonised for the hours and minutes hands – round off this subtle display.
Housed in a case in polished stainless steel, with flanks polished and sandblasted to a petal-like finish, the Rainflower can be admired through a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment on both sides. This gently domed glass adds a touch of sophistication to the watch. A bracelet in polished stainless steel, with links in the “beads of rice” style, carries this harmonious composition onto the wrist.
The Rainflower houses a finely decorated Caliber 80 self-winding movement, which can be admired through the transparent case back. The oscillating weight appears, engraved with a “Rainflower” decor of intersecting lines, like the pillars at the heart of the ArtScience Museum. This reliable automatic movement offers an excellent power reserve of up to 80 hours.
The new Rainflower watch is water-resistant up to 3 bar (30 m/100 ft).
