Alpina AlpinerX Smart Outdoors Limited Edition
To celebrate the renewal of its partnership with the Freeride World Tour for the fourth consecutive year in 2021, Swiss watch brand Alpina revealed an exclusive AlpinerX Smart Outdoors limited edition delivered with a strap made of recycled material from Alpina’s advertising banner from the Freeride World Tour 2020.
Last November, Alpina renewed its partnership with the Freeride World Tour in 2021 for the fourth year running. Sharing the same values and passion for adventure, Alpina and the Freeride World Tour have been working together since 2018, helping freeride athletes achieve their goal of mastering some of the most challenging lines the mountains have to offer.
As the official partner of the Freeride World Tour, Alpina is also directly supporting three Freeride World Tour competitors, namely the French athletes Juliette Willmann and Victor De Le Rue and the Italian Markus Eder. This year, the competition started in Andorra from February 19th to 26th, before continuing in Fieberbrunn, Austria and in Verbier, Switzerland.
In 2021, to celebrate their partnership, Alpina and the Freeride World Tour have designed an exclusive AlpinerX Alive Smart Outdoors limited edition of 40 pieces.
The watch is delivered with an extra strap made of recycled plastic from Alpina’s advertising banner from the Freeride World Tour 2020, which was located at the entrance of the Verbier resort.
Traditionally, the final round of the Freeride World Tour takes place in the Swiss ski resort, on one of the world’s most difficult venues to ride, the Bec des Rosses. Not to waste any material, Alpina decided to use in the most effective way: cutting the advertising banner into slices to create 40 unique straps to reinforce this limited edition’s attachment to freeride.
This exclusive Freeride World Tour 2021 timepiece is marked by the official Freeride World Tour logo at 2 o’clock, embellishing a black mat finishing dial accompanied by luminous red hands and silver indexes. Enhanced by a navy blue fibre glass case with a 360° bi-directional turning compass bezel, this model comes with a red rubber strap.
Conceived for outdoor enthusiasts, this model uses the dedicated AlpinerX companion application, available for iPhone or Android which tracks the heart rate, measures altitude, pressure, has a GPS function and sends data to the watch in real time to help take your performance to the next level.
