Introduced in 2020, Onda is a refined and elegant interpretation of the iconic Squale 1521 diving watch.
Onda means wave in Italian language. As the name suggests, this new series spotlights the emblematic ripple wave pattern dial associated with the Squale 1521 since its release in the 1970s.
This new edition is available with a bluish grey colour dial with a pattern inspired by the ocean waves. A pink dial variant with the similar texture is also available.
The Squale 1521 Onda watch is water-resistant up to 500 meters. Each timepiece features a polished, solid stainless steel case with 42mm diameter, 12.5mm thickness, 20mm lug width, and 48mm lug to lug length. It is fitted with flat sapphire crystal, screw-in crown, stainless steel unidirectional bezel with steel insert, and screw-in caseback.
The brand has opted for the automatic Sellita SW 200-1 Elaborè movement to equip these new references in the 1521 series. The large hands and indexes are enhanced with Super-Luminova coating. A window positioned at 9 o’clock of the dial displays the date.
The 1521 Onda is available with a black rubber strap or dark brown leather strap. The pink dial version is delivered with a white stingray textured leather strap, and an additional white rubber wristband.
The approximate retail price of the Squale 1521 Onda diving watch is $1,190. The model with pink dial costs about $1,340.
