TAG Heuer Carrera ‘Dato’ HODINKEE Limited Edition
Created in collaboration with HODINKEE, the TAG Heuer Carrera ‘Dato’ HODINKEE limited edition watch takes inspiration from the iconic Heuer 3147N ‘Dato 45’ chronograph introduced in the 1960s.
The vintage-inspired Carrera “glassbox” case houses a calibre Heuer 02 movement, which offers 80 hours power reserve. The dome crystal ensures its vintage appeal. In order to achieve the iconic 9 o’clock date window, the skilled watchmakers at TAG Heuer reworked its in-house chronograph to accommodate this function.
Its 39mm polished stainless steel case is fitted with black alligator leather strap. The watch boasts a deep black dial with a contrasting white subdial at 3 o’clock, pencil styled hour and minute hands, and applied hour markers with lume plots.
The chronograph’s seconds hand sweeps elegantly across the dial, due to the Calibre Heuer 02’s column wheel and vertical clutch, and the hand jumps back sprightly to its 12 o’clock position when it is reset.
This is the second collaboration between HODINKEE and TAG Heuer. In 2017, the two companies teamed up for the TAG Heuer Limited Edition Skipper.
Limited to only 250 examples, the TAG Heuer Carrera ‘Dato’ HODINKEE Limited Edition will retail for $7,250. 125 pieces will be sold via the HODINKEE Shop and the other 125 will be sold through TAG Heuer points of sale in the US and Japan.
