Oris Whale Shark Limited Edition
Swiss watch brand Oris presents the Whale Shark Limited Edition, a new special edition Aquis GMT watch, as a part of the brand’s mission to Change for the Better and to clean, restore and protect the world’s water.
Whale shark is the largest fish in the ocean and according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), it is endangered and the population is decreasing. In 2016, the IUCN made the stark announcement that the global population of whale sharks had halved over the previous 75 years. After 15 years photographing them, Oris ambassador Gerardo del Villar has a unique take on how to conserve the whale shark.
The Whale Shark Limited Edition is based on the Oris Aquis GMT diver’s watch and is limited to 2,016 pieces to mark the year of the IUCN’s landmark whale shark announcement. This watch is made in support of the work of Oris ambassador Gerardo del Villar.
This watch features a 43.50 mm diameter stainless steel case and a bi-directional rotating GMT bezel in black and blue ceramic insert. Its blue dial highlights a special engraved pattern inspired by whale shark skin. The automatic movement drives four center hands (hour, minute, seconds & GMT) and the date display at 3 o’ clock.
Water resistant to 300 meters, the Oris Whale Shark Limited Edition watch comes with a stainless steel metal bracelet.
